If you're a public figure, it's advisable to get yourself verified on your public social media accounts in order for everyone to recognise that it's the real you. Unfortunately, getting verified wouldn't necessarily stop imposters from scamming others.

Actress Puteri Sarah Liyana once shared that she was almost scammed by a Nadia Brian imposter and prior to that, Dato Sri Siti Nurhaliza warned fans about scammers who were using her family photos as bait. It seems that many have been impersonating a certain royal figure to the point that a warning had to be issued.

'We advise the public to not be easily fooled by fake social media accounts that have been using the name and photos of His Royal Highness Tengku Hassanal. For your information, His Royal Highness only possesses one official social platform which is an Instagram account under the name @this.7,' the Sultanate wrote.

After the post went up, fans of the Pahang royal family members showed concern over the issue and urged the Sultanate to take action against those imposters as they could potentially bring harm to those who may fall victim to their scams. Others claimed to have seen several Facebook and TikTok accounts that have been posing as Tengku Hassanal.
