Damodar Shrestha, a 79-year-old grandfather who was visiting his family in Australia, has been identified as the victim of an alleged hit-and-run crash at Melonba, in Western Sydney, about 11.45pm on Sunday. There are no indications the driver slowed down or stopped, according to NSW Police, who say they are still searching for the “callous” alleged offender.

Family mourn grandfather after hit-and-run in Sydney’s west. Damodar, a Nepalese national, was on Abell Rd when he was struck from behind by a car travelling east, just before 11pm.
