Simon Cowell has shared his fears that no one will turn up to audition for his latest talent quest. The entertainment tycoon, who's on the hunt for a new pop sensation akin to One Direction, a band he famously put together on The X Factor 14 years ago is launching a brand-new show to find fresh musical talent.
Reflecting on the past, he added: "I used to do this 25 years ago, before social media, so now everyone is just in their bedrooms." But the big question on his mind is: "Are they going to turn up to audition? I hope so! ". Simon even suggests that if One Direction, who the music mogul formed out of solo contestants on the X Factor in 2010, were to emerge today, they'd be an even bigger hit. He believes in the timeless appeal of a good boy band, saying: "I've always believed everything is cynical. If One Direction formed tomorrow and put their first single out now, I honestly think it would be more successful.
