The Times’ editorial board on Friday explained its call for Biden to drop out of the 2024 election with an op-ed titled, “On Saturday, the Inquirer’s editorial board summed up why it believes former President Trump is not fit for another four years of office with its op-ed that was similarly headlined, “

The Inquirer acknowledged that Biden’s performance against Trump was a “disaster” but warned that “lost in the hand wringing was Donald Trump’s usual bombastic litany of lies, hyperbole, bigotry, ignorance, and fear mongering.” The “debate about the debate is misplaced” and “the only person who should withdraw from the race is Trump,” it added.“Why go back to that?” it asked.

Biden “on his worst day remains lightyears better than Trump on his best,” it added, arguing that Biden must now “show that he is up to the job.”By entering your email and clicking Sign Up, you're agreeing to let us send you customized marketing messages about us and our advertising partners.
