AFL fans have turned on Collingwood hard man Brayden Maynard after an incident during his team’s loss to Gold Coast on Saturday night. During a moment in the second quarter, Maynard was seen tangling with Suns forward Ben Long. Long then pushed Maynard, with some degree of force, in the chest, knocking Maynard to the ground.
Under the AFL’s official guidelines, staging can include — but is not limited to — excessive exaggeration of contact in an unsportsmanlike manner.
