A South Carolina animal shelter overrun with hundreds of kittens is getting some attention from “The Righteous Gemstones” actor Tony Cavalero, The Post has learned.
Cavalero is volunteering at Charleston Animal Society, in the city where the HBO show films, walking dogs, cleaning the kitten room, cuddling with kittens and helping carry an 80-pound tortoise to his owner’s SUV, a shelter spokeswoman said.Charleston Animal Society has 604 kittens in its system, along with 79 cats, 27 puppies and 98 dogs — along with five bunnies and guinea pigs. But it has space for only 250 animals, the shelter’s spokeswoman said.
