Cheri Oteri and Michael McKean remember Martin Mull, who died on Thursday, June 27, at the age of 80, in exclusive statements to PEOPLE. Paul Feig and several others in the film industry also shared tributes online to the longtime actor.

The actor died "at home on June 27th, after a valiant fight against a long illness," his daughter saidKimberlee Speakman is a digital writer at PEOPLE. She has been working at PEOPLE since 2022. She also wrote that her dad "will be deeply missed by his wife and daughter, by his friends and coworkers, by fellow artists and comedians and musicians, and—the sign of a truly exceptional person—by many, many dogs. I loved him tremendously.
