Crews continue to battle the Boulder View Fire Friday as flames erupted late Thursday afternoon and forced evacuations near north Scottsdale.

MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. — A Phoenix woman was arrested on Thursday, more than a year after a 1-year-old baby died of fentanyl toxicity.

Lynandra Walton, 38, is facing multiple criminal charges in relation to the June 2023 death of her baby. Court records show the child was taken to hospital after the baby was found unresponsive at a residence near 55th Avenue and Indian School Road.Drug paraphernalia was allegedly found in the residence but Walton denied using drugs, court records show. Detectives reported finding pills on the bed and floor where Walton and the baby had been sleeping.

During a follow-up interview with police, the suspect allegedly admitted to abusing fentanyl, records show. Walton was subsequently booked into the Maricopa County jail.
