Corrie's Gail Platt's exit storyline 'revealed' – and it includes soap legend

Coronation Street fans were left gutted when Helen Worth announced her departure as Gail Platt from the cobbles after 50 years earlier this year, and now it looks like her exit storyline has been ‘revealed’.Sean Wilson, who played Martin left the soap in 2005, but the storyline will reportedly see a return for the character.

“It just didn’t sit right to kill her off or have Gail suffer more tragedy after, let’s face it, a pretty traumatic life. Helen made her first appearance in Weatherfield in 1974, as Gail Potter. Her romance with Martin began in 1990 after the murder of her first husband, Brian Tilsley. Helen confirmed her exit earlier this month with an emotional statement, saying it felt like ‘the perfect time to leave the show’.
