The police command in Katsina says its operatives have arrested two suspects in connection with the abduction of Halima Adamu, mother of Dauda Kahutu, a singer better known as Rarara.Sources close to the family said the attackers stormed the village in the early hours of Friday.
Aliyu Abubakar, the police spokesperson in Katsina, said in a statement that the suspects are being interrogated over the incident.“Today, Friday, June 28, 2024, at about 0130 hrs, information was received at the Danja Divisional Police Headquarters that some suspected kidnappers silently invaded the residence of one Hauwa’u Adamu, f, age 75 years, of Kahutu village, Danja LGA, Katsina State, and kidnapped her,” the statement reads.
“Upon receipt of the report, promptly, the DPO Danja led a team of operatives to the scene with a view to arresting the culprits and rescuing the victim unhurt.” Rarara is a famed political singer and songwriter in northern Nigeria, known to have put out some songs in support of former President Muhammadu Buhari during the 2015 general election.
