Inside Out 2 Writer Reveals Emotions That Didn’t Make Disney Sequel

Speaking to ComicBook, LeFauve — who co-wrote the screenplay for the sequel along with Dave Holstein — revealed that there were many emotions that were conceived for the movie, but ultimately didn’t make it.

“We had a fisherman for ideas named Gail, and we went to the Facts and Opinions factory and saw how those were made. And that was super fun,” LeFauve said. “I think in terms of emotionally, we really tried for quite a while to have Shame in the movie and Guilt.”LeFauve described Shame as “being more self-loathing, that thing that attacks you,” while noting that “The difference with shame is really not a great thing for you because it is just about attacking you.

Unfortunately, LeFauve said, the emotions just “never quite clicked” in the movie, which centered around new emotions Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment, and Ennui/Boredom. The voice cast for Inside Out 2 includes Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, Liza Lapira as Disgust, Maya Hawke as Anxiety, Ayo Edebiri as Envy, Adèle Exarchopoulos as Ennui, Paul Walter Hauser as Embarrassment, Kensington Tallman as Riley Andersen, Diane Lane as Mrs. Andersen, Kyle MacLachlan as Mr.
