The ITV morning show presenter announced the start of a five-day strike by junior doctors in England, which kicked off at 7am and is scheduled to end at the same time on July 2.
Junior doctors have noted that Wes Streeting, the shadow health secretary for Labour, has committed to talks on July 5, should Labour emerge victorious in the upcoming election, reports the Mirror. Matthew Taylor, chief executive of the NHS Confederation, remarked: "Holding strikes in the middle of an election campaign when no political party is in a position to bring the dispute to a close is a bitter pill to swallow for staff who have to plug the gaps and patients who will have their appointments cancelled or delayed."
In a light-hearted moment on the show, Kate adopted a high-pitched tone and gestured in exasperation, "I was just having a hair crisis! I'm going to be honest."
