Ian Garry was looking forward to living his dream and fighting on the same card as Conor McGregor at UFC 303 this weekend.
In the injury-plagued years since McGregor's last fight, Garry has enjoyed a meteoric rise to become the biggest Irish name in the sport outside of McGregor himself. A lifelong fan of The Notorious, 26-year-old Garry couldn't believe his luck when he was made a part of the McGregor headlined card, and his disappointment is immeasurable now that McGregor has withdrawn from the event.
"I feel like people still don't understand how big and how powerful Conor was to the Irish and how much we really got behind him. To the point where I am now representing the green, white and orange. In Garry's eyes, only McGregor knows how his body feels and nobody has the right to tell him whether he should have fought or not.
