The CGI International Jazz Festival brought another night of good music with talent from across the globe to downtown Rochester on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 Paa Kow Ninson, a drummer from Ghana, got people up and dancing at the Montage Music Hall for his first of a few shows this week.Ninson is known for his afro-fusion sound that combines jazz with music inspired by his African background.
"We look forward to this every year," said Manager Emily Goole. "We get a whole different crew of regulars we only see this week that come through and they’re lining up at the door by the time we open. So, business has been great and it’s great to see everyone again. As soon as the sun sets, the music is blaring. Everyone's dancing, there's nothing really like it.""Get ready to lick your fingers," said Gregory Smith of Marty's Meats, a barbecue truck.
The Meatball Truck has been at the Jazz Fest for about a decade, and Petrillo says it's been great to see the festival grow every year.
