A woman who was in a shopping centre, west of Newcastle, with her kids was “shaken” after a stranger tried to take her pram — inside of which was the mother’s two-year-old girl. The alleged offender, a 41-year-old woman, didn’t get far before the mother and members of the public sprang into action, NSW Police said. The mother and her two children — aged two, and 10 months — were at Stockland Glendale, in Lake Macquarie, when the woman approached them about 12.30pm on Sunday.
“The woman attempted to push the pram containing the child away, but was stopped by the mother and other members of the public. “The mother and the children were shaken but not otherwise hurt during the incident.” The 41-year-old woman left the shopping centre after the incident, but investigations led police to her the following day. She allegedly attempted to resist arrest at a Windale unit about 12.50pm on Sunday.
