The families of Russell Hill and Carol Clay say they are “relieved and devastated” after the jury delivered its verdict in the trial of Greg Lynn on Tuesday. Former Jetstar pilot Lynn, 57, pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder over the deaths of Hill and Clay, who disappeared from the Wonnangatta Valley, part of Victoria’s Alpine region, while camping in 2020.
Greg Lynn found guilty on one count of murder in missing campers trial. Lynn has admitted burning the couple’s bodies and setting fire to the crime scene, but claimed the deaths were accidental. After deliberating for seven days, the jury found Lynn guilty of Clay’s murder but not guilty over Hill’s death. “Russell Hill and Carol Clay’s families are both relieved and devastated at the verdicts in the trial of Gregory Lynn,” a joint statement from the pair’s loved ones said.
