Vogue World: Paris was full of thrilling surprises – Singers! Athletes! Gigi and Kendall on horseback! – but among the most delightful? An unannounced appearance from one Katy Perry, which electrified the Place Vendôme. During a portion of the show devoted to the style and silhouettes of the 1980s, models walked the Vogue World: Paris runway in Saint Laurent, Junya Watanabe, Comme des Garçons, Noir Kei Ninomiya and myriad other dynamic labels.
They were joined by an enormous fleet of professional judokas and karatekas for a tribute to the martial arts – oh, and by Nika Taiko, a Paris-based Japanese drum group, dressed for the occasion in Issey Miyake.
