“I look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake on these allegations,” attorney Edward Burke Jr. said in a statement shared with HuffPost. “He will have a lot to say at the appropriate time.”The 43-year-old singer-songwriter was taken into custody early Tuesday after his car was pulled over in Sag Harbor, on the eastern end of Long Island, for allegedly running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane.
The arresting officer said Timberlake smelled of alcohol, had “bloodshot and glassy” eyes and failed a field sobriety test, according to court records“He had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” the officer said. Sag Harbor Police Headquarters, where Timberlake reportedly spent the night in custody after being charged with drunk driving.The 10-time Grammy winner was in between shows for his Forget Tomorrow world tour, which started in April. He’s scheduled to perform in Chicago on Friday and will return to New York to perform at Madison Square Garden on June 25 and 26.
