Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The next Power Rangers show remains to be announced, but I know exactly the story the franchise should explore after Cosmic Fury if a reboot does not happen. Per TV Line, Netflix’s Power Rangers reboot is no longer moving forward. Power Rangers’ previous two TV projects, Once & Always and Cosmic Fury, were both released as Netflix originals.
Following the announcement that a new Power Rangers universe from producer Jonathan Entwistle was in the works, it seemed like Cosmic Fury was going to be the final season in the show’s current format ahead of a reboot. However, the cancellation of the Netflix reboot raises doubt about what the show will do next. According to TV Line, Hasbro is currently looking for a new creative partner to move forward with the project.
Zordon had seemingly died at the end of Power Rangersin Space’s “Countdown to Destruction,” an event that marked the end of the Zordon Era. In Power Rangers: Once & Always, the Netflix special that brought many of the original Rangers together for a nostalgic reunion, Billy was trying to bring Zordon back to life. The original Blue Ranger suspected that Zordon was still out there somewhere, yet Billy’s attempt at finding Zordon ended up resurrecting Rita Repulsa instead.
Once & Always also introduced a brand-new Mighty Morphin legacy character, Minh. Trini’s daughter wanted revenge for her mother but ultimately understood that being a Power Ranger was not about revenge but rather taking care of others. Once & Always ends with Minh becoming the third Mighty Morphin Yellow Ranger, following in the footsteps of Trini and Aisha. I would love to see a Mighty Morphin legacy series with new characters like Minh picking up the mantles of the original heroes.
