The Pixelbot 3000 embodies Lego craftsmanship with modern AI tech, allowing users a streamlined approach to creating intricate brick mosaics based on digital artwork inputs.A Dutch YouTuber devoted to Lego, namely Sten, also popularly known as Creative Mindstorms developed Pixelbot 3000, a new Lego printing technology catered to automating the design of intricate brick mosaics.

“This Lego machine can easily create a beautiful pixel art of anything you want! It is programmed in Python, and, with the help of OpenAI’s DALL-E 3, it can make anything! Simply type in a subject, and hit start!,” stated Creative Mindstorms on YouTube.The creator in a YouTube video released on June 8, 2024, says that in just a couple of months, the machine would be fully up and running. One would just have to simply type the subject and hit start.

The new technology does not rely on either manually designing mosaics or scanned images, instead, it uses AI, particularly OpenAI’sSimply put, users can direct AI to the subject by writing what artwork they desire, and the AI generates an image. “You get a preview of the generated image so that you can either confirm the image, generate the image, or crop the image.”
