An 18-year-old who had just been awarded his driver’s licence was ambushed at a set of traffic lights in Melbourne’s southwest and his new car stolen from him. Dieter Weiss was ambushed by four males wearing black ski masks and gloves when he pulled up in his new Holden Commodore to a set of lights on Callaway St in Mambourin at 8.30pm on Saturday.
-plater carjacked at Melbourne traffic lights. “They were menacing him from behind and aggressively cut him off and stopped in front of him,” the victim’s father John Weiss told 7NEWS. “Four males jumped out, surrounded his vehicle, dragged him out of the car and took off. “They obviously knew what they were doing because of the tactics they used.” Dieter’s parents and police helped him search for the car and eventually came across it dumped in a ditch not far from the site of the carjacking.
