Speaking to Belfast Live, a youth worker at R-CITY said:"Thanks to support from The National Lottery Community Fund, the young people from R-CITY got the opportunity to work alongside local artists to create a new mural at the peace gates on Lanark Way."The idea from the young people was to create an art piece that looked back to our city’s troubled past but which also looked forward to a positive future in the new vibrant Belfast.
R-CITY staff member Rebecca Paul said:"The young people can’t believe how well their ideas have come to life in this mural. From first linking up with artist Micky Docherty to now having this great mural has inspired them to think more positively about art and the impact it can have in spaces more known for negative press."
Amber Wallace added:"I can’t stop looking at the mural every time I pass it. It really stands out and is a positive message for everyone that stops for a look or photo.
