A collection of on- and off-stage clothing of Katharine Hepburn will be on display at the Kent State Museum starting June 28, 2024.opens Friday, June 28, at the Kent State University Museum. It continues through May 25, 2025. The exhibit has been curated from the museum’s collection of the actress’s estate pieces and her theatrical costumes.
“We have had tremendous response with past exhibitions of Hepburn’s costumes, and ‘The Hepburn Style’ will allow us to showcase pieces that haven’t been displayed before as well as to contextualize her wardrobe with garments from our collection by designers that Hepburn admired.”Born in 1907, Hepburn started her acting career on the New York stage. She went to Hollywood in 1930 and was a leading lady for nearly six decades.
The style of the Academy award-winning actress has been described as: “all-time movie chic,” or “easy, un-self-conscious and American.”
