Gavin and Stacey's actress and co-creator, Ruth Jones, joined Jamie Theakston and Davina McCall on Heart FM's Breakfast Show this morning. She was there to discuss her role in the musical Sister Act and, naturally, the much-anticipated Christmas special of the BBC sitcom.
She explained to Jamie and Davina that she and Uncle Bryn star Rob Brydon, 59, are trying to savour the present moment before the show returns. "So, yes, there's this gorgeous time ahead of us where we're all going to get together again and film Gavin and Stacey, and be down in Barry Island and then, hopefully, it will all go well and it will come out on Christmas Day, and that will be great!
Ruth's confession comes shortly after James Corden, who plays her character's on-screen romantic partner, Smithy, featured on BBC Radio 2's The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show. He compared the process of creating the reunion to assembling a "Jenga puzzle".
