Taylor Swift blown away in first message to Liverpool crowd

The world's biggest popstar took to the stage at Anfield on Thursday night for the first of three shows in L4. Merseyside has been battered with heavy rain in the lead up to the show but the sold out crowd refused to let it dampen their spirits as they gave the 34-year-old a huge ovation when she appeared on stage.

Taylor pointed at each section of the crowd and received more huge cheers before she went on to perform the first song. She said: "I'm not going to lie. "This is my very first time getting to play a show in Liverpool." Fans have travelled far and wide to enjoy the show tonight and she praised them for their support.

"We love you so much." Taylor also shared an exciting announcement as she revealed the show broke the all time attendance record at Anfield.
