MANILA, Philippines — The Kingdom of Jesus Christ claimed that the operations carried out by the Philippine National Police to arrest its leader, Apollo Quiboloy, were 'illegal and carried out with unnecessary and unrestrained force' based on closed-circuit television footage. In a statement published on the group's website and later shared on social media on Thursday, the KoJC said that the PNP, in serving an arrest warrant for Quiboloy and five others, hit them with a water cannon.

The group also said several missionaries were injured, after the PNP's 'violent' entry, among them a woman who got kicked in the face by a military boot and two men who also received injuries on their arms and shoulders.KoJC's legal counsel, Kathleen Laurente, also denied the PNP's claims that they had 'no choice but to destroy the gate' at the KoJC's Glory Mountain property, as the police said missionaries did not allow them to enter the compound.
