The unexpected secret to Ariarne Titmus’s world-record powers has been uncovered by her parents as the Australian swimming star’s legend continues to grow ahead of the Paris Olympics. The 23-year-old seized the fastest 200m freestyle time in history from her local rival Mollie O’Callaghan in a barnstorming final at the national trials in Brisbane on Wednesday night.

Ariarne Titmus’s parents reveal swimming star’s ‘hilarious’ pre-race habit. Titmus now owns the 200m and 400m freestyle world records in addition to being the reigning Olympic gold medallist in both events. And while all her training in the pool came to the fore, a newer pre-race tradition has also made an impact.
