Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has spent over $30,000 in campaign funds on expenses related to grooming and personal hygiene, according to financial disclosures reviewed by The National Desk .to the Chicago Sun-Times the money was actually given to AJ Styles Barber & Beauty Salon and said the filing would be amended to reflect this.from the end of 2023 discloses 13 transactions with “Makeup Majic,” amounting to over $6,650.
The expenses were categorized as “candidate makeup,” “candidate makeup for TV,” “candidate makeup for debate” and “makeup retainer." Mayor Johnson’s office did not immediately return a request for comment from TND Tuesday. Neidhardt told the Chicago Sun-Times the mayor “does not spend taxpayer dollars in preparation for the many public appearances and events he attends every day.
