Maura was filling in for Oliver Callan on Monday morning when the accident happened.

RTE star Maura Derrane has revealed she broke her wrist while on her way to fill in for Oliver Callan on his radio show.

She told her followers on social media she went to the VHI Swiftcare Clinic in Carrigmines, where they told her she had broken her wrist in two places. She said: "I fell this morning in the house on the way out to do the radio show. I tripped, came down on my had on my wrist. Ran into work put an ice pack on it, took a few painkillers and did the show.

Sharing how she suffered the break, she said it was a simple accident that could have happened to anyone and joked that she was having a "lovely" start to her summer.
