Adelaide and Perth residents will be able to access next-day postal delivery for some parcels from Tuesday as Australia Post expands its services. Australia Post said online purchases in Adelaide and Perth had grown 15 per cent in each city since 2019. In Adelaide, more than 500,000 households shopped online in the past year, while 800,000 shopped online in Perth. Australia Post already offers next-day delivery in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
“We already have some of the country’s largest retailers using the Australia Post Metro service covering the lifestyle, fashion, beauty and fast-moving consumer goods space, with more retailers coming online every month,” Starr said. Department store Myer will be offering next-day delivery in Perth through Australia Post Metro. Big W and the Super Retail Group, which owns Rebel Sport, Macpac, Supercheap Auto and BCF will offer next-day delivery in Adelaide and Perth.
