Gorka Marquez said he was 'excited' as he made an announcement on his Strictly Come Dancing future - and it is good news for fans. The dancer has confirmed that he'll be heading back to the ballroom later this year when the BBC One dance contest returns.
The professional dancers who will be returning to Strictly alongside Gorka are Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima, Karen Hauer, Amy Dowden, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Luba Mushtuk, Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas and Vito Coppola.
Notably, Giovanni Pernice was not among the names confirmed. He has been a part of the dancing show since 2015 when he reached the grand final with Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote. Later, in 2021, he lifted the Strictly glitterball trophy alongside EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis, who was the first deaf contestant to win.
Sharing the news of his own return, Gorka took to Instagram with a black and white snap of himself posing up a storm in a white vest under a smart black blazer and matching trousers and said: "Excited to be back for my 9th Series of @bbcstrictly and specially to celebrate 20 years of the best Show on TV. Keep Dancing…"
