I’ve had people tell me that the song that I co-wrote with Katy, “Roar,” got them through their divorce or, you know, inspired them to get in shape, or battle cancer. Like people have these really heavy stories associated with these songs, and that is why I do what I do is really connecting with the fans. I mean, it really feels like I did this with the fans, like this album is curated for the fans, by the fans, and I feel like they’ve been with me every step of the way. They encouraged me.
