Noodles are an instant hit for Aussies of all ages. But a nurse has warned parents to be extra vigilant when feeding kids — from toddlers to teenagers — instant noodles after reports of children suffering scalding burns from the soupy stock.

The safest way to prepare instant noodles for kids. Paediatric nurse Sarah Hunstead, who runs Australia’s children’s safety page CPR Kids, explained how it can take less than a second for spilled instant noodles to cause a severe burn. “Noodles are a popular snack, especially in the colder months, but did you know they are also a common cause of scald burns in toddlers and children?” she said in an Instagram post.
