A cyclist has died days after crashing with a car in Sydney’s northern beaches. Emergency services were called to Forest Way, Belrose, after reports of a crash involving two cyclists and a car about 6.10am on Tuesday. Paramedics treated both cyclists for injuries, with one 47-year-old man airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition. The man died in hospital from his injuries only two days later on Thursday.
The other cyclist, a 56-year-old man, was taken to the same hospital and suffered serious injuries. The 24-year-old male driver was uninjured, and underwent mandatory testing at a hospital before he was taken to Manly Police Station, according to police. The man was charged with negligent driving and cause bodily harm by misconduct in charge of motor vehicle. He has since been charged with an additional offence of negligent driving occasioning death.
