Shocking government figures show how many of our region's children are living below the breadline, as campaigners call for political parties to act ahead of the general election

Shocking government figures have revealed that in some parts of Merseyside, more than two in three children are living in poverty.

The proportion of children affected ranges from 21% in Sefton, to 32% of kids in Liverpool. However, at a hyperlocal level, the rate of child poverty is even more stark in some neighbourhoods on Merseyside. See where yours ranks using our interactive map: Nationally, 2.5 million 0-15 year olds across the UK were living in poverty in 2022/23, more than 20% of all kids - up from 1.9 million in 2014/15 .
