is back at Cuddy Family Midtown Park. The three day music and art festival kicks off on Friday, bringing big names like Diplo and Portugal the Man to the stage in Midtown Anchorage.“Everything from hip hop, EDM and rock music right in the heart of Anchorage,” Natalie Treadwell, the Community Outreach Director with Showdown Alaska, said.
Over 25 national and 30 local acts will be performing throughout the weekend. Treadwell says since the initial debut in 2022 in Downtown Anchorage, the festival attendance has grown by 30% each year. Showdown Production says hosting the festival at the park allows them to expand the festival and welcome more artists, stages and vendors. Showdown Production has already sold 5,000 tickets and is expecting to sell another 2,000.
“Bringing a lot of economic development into our the heart of our Anchorage community, we see this as a great opportunity for music tourism,” Treadwell said. “Especially that 18 to 34 demographic that’s not really watching all of the print media or going on cruises, but looking for more of a unique experience to come to Alaska.”
The festival will include 26 food trucks and vendors. In addition, every wristband holder will have access to free, unlimited rides and access to carnival rides provided by Golden Wheel. Funding from the event will be used to helpGates open on Friday at 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. Weekend 3-day passes and day passes are still on sale, and door tickets will also be available for purchase at the venue.
