Whoopi Goldberg broke down in tears on Wednesday's episode of The View as she reunited - and performed - with the cast of Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit and promised fans that a third movie would definitely make it's way to the big screen.
Viewers tuning in at home absolutely loved the reunion and took to X, formerly known as Twitter to share their thoughts, with one person writing: 'BRAVA BRAVO!!! THANK YOU!! #TheView THE INJECTION OF JOY WE NEEDED!!!' Another person tweeted: 'I've rewound this three times, y'all. I needed this cleanser. There is so much gloom and doom in the world. Plus, everyone is genuinely enjoying themselves, and Whoopi looks like a proud mom. You rarely see her emotional. This was good!'
The long-awaited project was greenlit in December 2020, and Whoopi was reportedly keen to 'figure out' the finances and 'move fast' with the production - which hit a 'stoplight' owing to the SAG-AFTRA strikes.
