most of yesterday, I was able to finish the current collection of Destiny 2 campaign missions for The Final Shape. A raid is coming on Friday which will move the story forward from there, then some sort of ultimate full-community final mission to end things once and for all .
This time, we’re entirely focused on just four characters, the original Vanguard, Zavala, Ikora and a resurrected Cayde-6, plus Crow. Plus us, of course. It ends how it began, as it were, and I think it was the right call to focus on this subset of characters.When it was first revealed that Cayde would be returning for The Final Shape after his death in Forsaken, it felt a bit like a desperate gimmick to me.
That also translates to missions and their structure. We are on our third expansion of Legendary campaigns which up the challenge without making itinsane, and that’s how I played my first run. These are easily the best collection of campaign missions the game has ever seen, and that’s before we even see the last one.
