Last week, when David Lynch teased that he was cooking up a new project, fans speculated a new film or show was potentially in the works. Today, he surprised us with the announcement of a new album titled, along with the first single, “Sublime Eternal Love.” The album, set to release August 2 via Sacred Bones Records, is a collaboration between the legendary filmmaker and synth-pop artist Chrystabell.
The pair have previously collaborated on Chrystabell’s music with Lynch as a producer, and the singer played the role of Agent Tammy Preston inFittingly inspired by a vision that Lynch experienced during a nighttime walk through a forest, the record is a trip through the mysterious portals in their collaborative mind’s eye, complete with an orchestral soundscape designed by late composer and Lynch’s long-time creative partner Angelo Badalamenti.
