Stonehouse

Mark and Kerry Reid spent four months turning their house into an epic dino display for their village gala day.

A family transformed their home into Jurassic Park's Isla Nublar in an incredible display that saw movie lovers travel from across Scotland to view it. Visitors to Mark and Kerry Reid's home in Stonehouse were left feeling like they were at a theme park.

They got down to business quickly, with the transformation starting in February in a bid to be ready for the big day, which has been held in the village on the first Saturday of June every year for decades. One of John Hammond's buggies is broken down in the garden, with smoke coming out of its engine, while a giant sauropod can be seen craning its long neck round the corner of the house. And there is even a flying Pterodactyl flying in the sky above.

"If your kid gets picked to take part in the gala then you decorate your house and the kids pick a theme. All in all, it took us about four months. We got started in February and were finished just in time for the gala starting, so it was a big effort!"
