A 30-year-old man was charged in court on June 4 with using criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty. Police said officers from Central Police Division were carrying out anti-crime rounds at Victoria Street on April 7 at about 1.20am when they spotted Tan Xin Fa at the HaveFun Live Show venue in Bugis+ shopping mall.

A 30-year-old man was charged in court on June 4 with using criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty.

With the intention of conduct checks on Tan, one of the officers identified himself with a warrant card. The offence of using criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty carries an imprisonment term of up to four years, a fine, or both.
