Scottish boxer Andy Tham has died at 28 after a motorbike crash. Tham’s bike and a car collided just north of Glasgow on May 30, leaving him with critical injuries. He died on June 2. The driver and passengers of the car were also taken to hospital, but were released after being treated. Tham was managed by St Andrew’s Sporting Club, which confirmed his death on Tuesday.
“I have no words to describe this devastating news other than heartbreaking. “My thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends.” Police are still investigating the crash. “Our thoughts are very much with Andrew’s family and friends at what is a very difficult time for them,” said sergeant Gemma Blackadder from the road policing unit. Tributes poured in for the much-loved fighter. “Devastated to hear of Andy Tham’s passing,” boxing researcher Andrew Usher said.
