Based on the popular Richard Osman novel of the same name, The Thursday Murder Club transports audiences into the fictional English village of Fairhaven, where there is a luxury retirement community called Cooper’s Chase.

Playing the septuagenarian stars is a talented group of veteran actors who have contributed their talents to numerous other projects. The main Thursday Murder Club cast is set to include Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren as Ron Ritchie and Elizabeth Best, Ben Kingsley as Ibrahim Arif, and Celia Imrie as Joyce Meadowcroft. While all four actors have prolific careers, two of them have appeared together in a notable project from several years back.

Thursday Murder Club Reunites Helen Mirren & Celia Imrie 21 Years After Calendar Girls The Nigel Cole Movie Was Their First One Together Those two actors are Mirren and Imrie, who previously starred together in the British comedy Calendar Girls in 2003. Directed by Nigel Cole, Calendar Girls is a story about a media phenomenon created when a group of women decide to make a nude calendar to raise money for their local hospital.

What Helen Mirren & Celia Imrie Have Done Since Calendar Girls Close Both actresses have gone on to have active careers in between Calendar Girls and The Thursday Murder Club. For Imrie, this has taken the form of starring in, for example, the comedy romance film The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. The actress also played Mrs. Quickly in the 2005 film version of Nanny McPhee.

In the same year that she starred in Calendar Girls, Mirren became Dame Helen Mirren. This venerable status has earned Mirren the utmost respect as an actress, exemplified through her Oscar nominations for films such as The Queen and The Last Station, the former of which garnered her a Best Actress award. Helen Mirren's movies also include pop culture projects such as Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Fast X, and as the narrator in Barbie.
