The Cruisin’ for Organ Donors and Sudbury Cares premium car show June 2 was held in memory of three men: Gerry Montpellier, Michael Vagnini and Terry Witrak

The rain wouldn’t stop the fun at the Cruisin’ for Organ Donors and Sudbury Cares premium car show June 2, held in memory of three men: Gerry Montpellier, Michael Vagnini and Terry Witrak., who all died in February of this year. The event was held at Partsource on Lorne Street.

Witrak, owner of Witrak Auto Specialties, is described in his obituary as an “entrepreneur, automotive enthusiast, loving husband, father and grandfather.” He died Feb. 18 at the age of 75. Bob Johnston, organizer of the event, said he wanted to raise funds for local charities to honour the men he knew, and their love of the community.

“Then, when my dad passed away about 10 or 11 years ago, I told Gerry,’you've got no choice, you're adopted me,’” he said with a laugh. “I called him pops ever since then.”
