Fans of the hit Christmas film Home Alone have been left devastated after the infamous house where it was filmed was put up for sale - and they realised it's not what it seems

Fans of the beloved Christmas classic 'Home Alone' have been left stunned after discovering the truth about the iconic house featured in the film, which has recently been put on the market with a $5.25million price tag.

The revelation emerged when potential buyers noticed the home's contemporary interior, leading one shocked fan to comment: "What the hell did they do to it?" This prompted others to clarify that Kevin's ingenious traps and stunts were filmed on a soundstage, not inside the actual house. However, this fact offered little consolation to some die-hard enthusiasts. One person expressed disappointment, saying: "They really took all the character out of it. Can't even tell it's the same house without a side by side." Another vented their frustration: "Gotta spend another million just to make it look like it once did."

American estate agents The Dawn McKenna Group have described the property as "one of the most famous houses in the world".
