It’s common to see Indonesians and Malaysians disagreeing with each other on social media. While the interactions typically comprise sarcastic remarks, some have escalated into something more heated. Recently, Indonesian singer Rossa chimed in on the issue of Indonesian influencers making negative remarks about Malaysia on social media.
The singer is well-loved in her home country and Malaysia and will even perform alongside two local artists in an upcoming joint concert. When interviewed by a local media, Rossa shared her thoughts on Indonesian influencers making videos, which seemed to put Malaysia in a negative light. According to the 46-year-old, citizens of both Indonesia and Malaysia should report such hateful posts to avoid dividing the people.
On the same note, Rossa also spoke fondly about Malaysia and denied that Indonesians are not on good terms with Malaysians. The singer revealed that many of her friends from Indonesia often visit Malaysia to enjoy the local food and scenery. She also added that many Indonesians visit the country to shop, specifically for items that they can’t find back home.Rossa’s comment about the topic shows why the star has remained an icon in Indonesia and Malaysia for so long.
