Poor driving conditions are being investigated as the cause of a crash between a car and truck that killed three people on a Queensland highway. Two men, aged 54 and 84, and a woman, 81, died on the D’Aguilar Hwy at Nanango, northwest of Brisbane, about 5.50am on Thursday. All three were in a car that crashed with a B-double truck, but it has not yet been determined which of the three was driving the car at the time.
He said he would not “make presumptions” about the cause of the crash, but said the road would have been wet. Queensland Ambulance Service reported there had been “heavy fog” in the area at the time of the crash. “Everyone needs to drive to the conditions, whether it’s nighttime, wet roads, foggy roads,” Everest said. He said families of the three victims, who all came from the nearby town of Booie, have been told of their deaths.
