This year, renowned producer Eddy Cassar lined up an evening of high-quality entertainment for the Jive Cape Town Funny Festival, including the likes of American circus artist/comedian Mario Queen of the Circus and British-Armenian comedic pianist Kev Orkian.

South Africa’s premier comedy variety show returns to the Baxter Theatre for its 25th-anniversary edition, featuring a star line-up of local and international acts guaranteed to put a smile on Cape Town’s face.

Cassar has organised several other iconic events in the Mother City. ‘We’ve got an excellent line-up this year as we turn 25, which is a very special milestone of which I am very proud,’ he says. In 2018, the Western Cape’s provincial minister of community safety and police oversight, Reagen Allen, earned a shot at the festival. ‘It was incredible…and it contributed to my being nominated for the SA Comics Choice Newcomer Award.’One of the show’s business strategies this year is to uplift local schools or businesses. This can be done via the event’s group sales ticket bulk discount strategy, which can be used by charities or businesses as a fundraising tool.
