Hope585 hosted the “Walk a Mile event” Saturday morning in downtown Rochester at Parcel 5.

About 200 people came to the Walk for a Mile event, Saturday, May 25, 2024, with suitcases donated at the end of the walk to children currently navigating the child welfare system.

About 200 people came to Saturday’s event with suitcases donated at the end of the walk to children currently navigating the child welfare system. “I’m happy, I’m very pleased,” said Ashley Cross, the founder and executive director of Hope 585. “I feel very hopeful. It was incredibly inspiring to see people show up, not just for Hope 585 but for young people.”
