Published: May. 22, 2024 at 7:01 PM AKDTANCHORAGE, Alaska - Southcentral and much of southern Alaska was where rain was falling on Wednesday. Homer got .10″, and .09″ rain in Portage with Cordova getting .43″. The only other significant amounts were Adak with .21″ and Yakutat with .33″

Strongest winds were gusting in the Interior at Delta Junction and King Cove with 38 and 40 mph gusts respectively. The Interior did register temperatures in the 60s, with Fairbanks and Fort Yukon both hitting 66 degrees and 63 in Northway. Anchorage saw temperatures hit 52 for the official high, which is under average for this date.

Flood watches are still out, for snowmelt on the Yukon River on Fort Yukon and Porcupine River and again on the Yukon downstream of Mountain Village down to the Yukon Delta coast.Full moon - Anchorage Rise: 11:10 pm Wed. Moonset 4:07 am ThursdayHot spot went to Fairbanks and Fort Yukon with 66 degrees. Cold spot was Red Dog Mine with a temperature down to 18 degrees.
